About Shaun

Shaun McKay holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and a Bachelor of Economics as well as a Master of Laws, all from Monash University in Melbourne. Shaun was admitted to practice in 1994.

Shaun gained extensive experience in two boutique Melbourne law firms over a period of twelve years, before founding McKay Law in 2006. Since establishing McKay Law Shaun has continued to advise in a wide range of transactions and commercial disputes.

Shaun focuses on providing practical and strategic advice in commercial negotiations and the resolution of commercial disputes. In doing so, he works closely with clients to understand their businesses and the client's goals in each matter.

Shaun’s particular areas of interest are commercial transactions, and the provision of advice in matters including, but not limited to, business issues and disputes, property and leasing issues, employment issues, intellectual property issues, company and business structures and estate planning.

Shaun enjoys a role as a key advisor to a number of large commercial groups with whom he has worked closely for many years.

Away from the office, Shaun’s passions are his family, various sports and fitness related activities and the Geelong Cats Football Club.
